New GPS Device That Caused Stir at RILA Coming to NRF

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – April 22, 2014 – The most talked about LP device at this year’s RILA conference is coming to the NRF LP conference as well, it has just been announced. The active GPS tracker, kept under close wraps until now by its maker USS, will be shown to LP industry insiders from June 11 to June 13, 2014, in Fort Lauderdale.

“We expected our active GPS tracker to draw attention, especially due to its small size,” said Tony Oliver, USS’ chief technology officer, “but even we were a little surprised by just how much excitement it generated. Halfway through one presentation, a large national retail chain requested an RFP from us for one thousand units.”

USS representatives declined again to provide technical details of the GPS-enabled product. “It is designed to combat ORC, and we will not be publicly releasing any data that could fall into the wrong hands,” said Adel Sayegh, the company’s president and CEO. “The active GPS tracker will be shown to industry insiders at our Innovation Room 220 during the NRF conference; beyond that, the full details will be shared on a case-by-case basis, subject to a confidentiality agreement.”

As previously reported, USS has been secretly testing the new GPS device for four months. On April 2, 2014 the company announced that one of its testing partners caught an organized retail crime group after using the tracker for just one week.
